The Painted Turtle is located on 173 acres in the Angeles National Forest in the town of Lake Hughes, CA. The altitude of the camp is 3,250 ft.

All buildings were designed at ground level, eliminating the need for stairs or ramps and allowing all campers to enter from the same access points.  Paved paths connect all buildings, and rustic light posts guide the campers back to their cabins.

Special attention was paid to the interior detail of each building to inspire wonder and magic and memories for each camper.
