The Painted Turtle’s first Pickleball Tournament was a smashing success! 

Held at The Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades on Sunday, October 2nd, 50 players gathered to raise funds for The Painted Turtle, ensuring that Camp experiences always remain free of charge for campers and their families.  

Pickleball players ranging from beginner and intermediate to advanced competed for seven prize winning spots. During the tournament, six professional pickleball instructors were on-hand to give pointers and teach beginners the basics of the game!

Former camper, now Painted Turtle staff member, Perla Ortega kicked off the event by sharing her story about the first time she went to The Painted Turtle. 

Guests enjoyed food and beverages throughout the event and took home a goodie bag brimming with a personalized pickleball paddle from Short Court, treats from Trader Joe’s, Core pickleballs, Jigsaw cocktails, Newman’s Own Products, Mosh Bars, Stranded Sanitizer,  hats from the Pickleball Exchange and some Painted Turtle goodies!  

Top prizes included a 4-night ocean view room stay at the Four Seasons in Maui, courtside seats to a Lakers game, Coachella weekend experience, private pickleball lessons, private wine tour and lunch in Napa, 2 night getaway and gold package at Westin Rancho Mirage and swag bags with Recess Paddles, vintage wine, and gift certificates from Trader Joe’s and Pickleball Exchange. 

The event concluded with an energetic tie-breaking match between the top scorers! It was a wonderful event full of Painted Turtle fun and comradery.
