Welcome New Board Member
Dan Wallman
Dan Wallman is a familiar
face at The Painted Turtle, having been introduced to Camp in
2006 through his work with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
Since that time, his impact on the TPT community has been
enormous, as a Volunteer, Donor, Mentor, Event Sponsor and, in
his words, “an enthusiastic supporter of everything about
The Painted Turtle and the organization.”
A native of Southern California, Dan is semi-retired from an extensive career in real estate investing across several organizations he built from the ground up. His work includes decades of experience in property management, maintenance & repairs.
Dan’s love and dedication to The Painted Turtle is a true “family affair.” His wife of 42 years, Missy, and daughters Jenica and Kailee and their families have been long-time Painted Turtle volunteers and supporters. Dan has logged over 1,650 hours as a Painted Turtle volunteer at Camp, in Hospitals, and at special events hosted by The Painted Turtle.
His generous financial contributions
have made possible construction of the Camp Store (now Discovery)
building, renovation of the Santa Monica Office and fabrication
of the gym rock climbing wall. He has also been a consistent
supporter of seasonal fundraising campaigns, onsite celebrations
and dedications, and matching gift programs.
When Dan spots a need across Camp, he not only brings it to the staff’s attention, he also identifies and often pays for the solution. This has resulted in funding for a new commercial dishwasher and supplies for the Camp kitchen, as well as a holiday Amazon gift card raffle to honor and celebrate TPT staff.
